Narrative:
The lost continent of Atlantis is an enduring myth that probably had its origins among the Arabic peoples of the Middle East. It was appropriated by the Greeks, and probably influenced Welsh and Lusitanian (Portuguese) mythology as well.
Before it sank beneath the sea, Atlantis reputedly lay a short distance west of the Straits of Gibraltar. Its inhabitants were said to have ruled entire regions of present-day Europe and to have enjoyed an ideal life of technological accomplishment and spiritual well-being.
